The Derbyshire Mammal Atlas Project

'The Mammals of Derbyshire' by Dave Mallon, Debbie Alston and Derek Whiteley, is still available to buy. Launched in 2013 in Bakewell, with almost 200 pages of information, distribution maps and photographs, it is the result of over 4 years of mammal recording and a collation of previous data, with a total of over 85,000 records. The book is a comprehensive account of Derbyshire's mammals (past, present and possible future).

So far, around 550 copies of DMG's share of the book have been sold.

It is also available from bookshops and other outlets across the county.

Derbyshire Mammal Group and Sorby Mammal Group launched the project back in the autumn of 2006, at the Mammal Symposium in Calver Village Hall.

Please keep sending your records in, as they will still be entered into the database in the forthcoming months and years. New distribution maps will soon be shown on the web site which will show species records from 2011 onwards.
